Holy Ghost is the eleventh book in the Virgil Flowers series by prize-winning American journalist and author, John Sandford. It’s a late May Sunday morning when Minnesota BCA agent Virgil Flowers leaves Frankie Noble coping with morning sickness to investigate two shootings in the nearby town of Wheatfield (there may be some confusion as the blurb refers to the town as Pinion)/5.

The book explores the concept of who the Holy Ghost is, the difference between the influence of and the gift of the Holy Ghost and the many different roles the Holy Ghost has.

In addition to explaining basic doctrines about the Holy Ghost, there are activities and codes and scriptures as well as questions and memories for the child to record his/her thoughts/5(4). “Holy Ghost” is the eleventh in a series of Virgil Flowers novels, but it can be read as a stand-alone.

Although I have read several of the earlier books in the series, this review is oriented towards the reader not familiar with Virgil Flowers.

Most teaching on the person of the Holy Ghost dwells on the gift, power, nature, and symbolic representation of the Holy Spirit without telling us the simple-down-to-earth principles that will make the still small voice we hear in our heads to become an active personality whose reality will 5/5(4).

Thus, a study of this experience must begin with an exploration of the Person and nature of the Holy Spirit. In chapter 7 we learned that the Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead.

The book of Acts describes the Holy Spirit descending on the apostles at Pentecost in the form of a wind and tongues of fire resting over the apostles' heads. Based on the imagery in that account, the Holy Spirit is sometimes symbolized by a flame of fire.
